What’s in Chia Banana Boost Smoothie?

Here’s what’s in it, including all the health benefits of each ingredient:

  • Frozen banana: frozen banana gives this smoothie an extra creamy, smooth consistency. It also makes the smoothie ice cold. Furthermore, bananas have so many health benefits but just to name a few, they contain: fiber, potassium, folate, and antioxidants!
  • Chia seeds: chia seeds are truly a super food! In very few calories, they provide a ton of nutrients. They are also high in fiber, antioxidants, omega-3’s, and protein!
  • Peanut butter: apart from being insanely delicious, peanut butter is full of vitimins and minerals (E, biotin, iron, potassium zinc, folate, magnesium…) and protein, which helps you feel fuller for longer.
  • Oats: makes the smoothie creamy, and provides a ton of fiber. Additionally, oats are filling so you stay fuller for longer!
  • Coconut flakes: Adds a delicious hint of coconut flavor, fiber, and contains MCTs.
  • Date: provides natural sweetness, vitamins, minerals, inflammation-reducing antioxidants, and fiber.
  • Cinnamon: pairs perfectly with all the other flavors in this smoothie! Plus, cinnamon is anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, lowers blood pressure, and can improve gut health.
  • Almond milk: the liquid gets the blender going and allows everything to blend super smoothly. Almond milk also contains 37% of the daily vitamin E requirement in just 1 ounce!!! Also, its a great source of calcium and vitamin D.

This smoothie is great for adding a scoop of collagen, maca powder, or any other supplements you like.

Sometimes I add a scoop of flax seeds to this smoothie for an extra boost!

Making this chia banana boost smoothie is easy. First, throw all ingredients into a blender. Next, blend for at least 30 seconds to make sure everything is nice, smooth, and incorporated. Voila!

Pro tips

  • If you don’t have any frozen bananas on hand, add a few ice cubes to the smoothie to make it cold and creamy.
  • Use a natural peanut butter for the healthiest option. Natural peanut butter doesn’t contain the added sugars and hydrogenated oils that other types of peanut butters have. Look for the brand that has the least ingredients.
  • Feel free to add less or more peanut butter depending on your taste. My boyfriend actually is not a fan of peanut butter but loves this smoothie!

  • Blender
  • 1 banana (frozen)
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp oats
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 1 date (pitted)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup almond milk
