How do you make a maple brown sugar latte?

This latte is super easy to make and only takes a few minutes to prepare.

First, we have to make the maple brown sugar syrup. This is where all the flavor and sweetness comes from.

To make the syrup you'll need a small saucepan and a whisk.

On the stove, heat together the brown sugar, water, maple syrup, and cinnamon. Whisk the mixture occasionally. The sugar will dissolve and then you will need to simmer the mixture until it starts to thicken. This process takes about 5 minutes total.

After the syrup is done, making the rest of the latte is pretty much effortless. In a glass, mix together half of the syrup and a shot of espresso. Next, add ice, then top off with milk!

You can also make this iced coffee in a cocktail shaker or jar with a lid if you want to mix everything together like that. It'll add a nice froth to the drink and make it super chilled if you add ice too!

What kind of milk should I use in this latte?

You can use whatever your favorite milk is! I think oat milk would be particularly delicious in this latte but almond, whole, etc all work well.

Can I make a maple brown sugar latte hot instead of iced?

yes- you can totally make this latte either hot or iced! If you plan on enjoying it hot, I recommend steaming your milk. This will give the latte a super rich, velvety texture that will make it even more indulgent and delicious.

I always steam my milk by heating it in a saucepan on the stove until steaming, then frothing it with an electric whisk/milk frother until it gets foamy.

Also, I definitely encourage you to top this latte with a sprinkle of cinnamon! Because it's ~fancy~
