HOW TO MAKE HOT SPICED APPLE CIDER

Making hot spiced apple cider is SO quick and easy! Just add everything to a pot, bring to a boil, and simmer for five minutes. Boiling and simmering allows the cider get infused with all those delicious flavors.

For the orange peel, don’t worry about peeling the whole thing in one piece or anything. Whether it comes off in small pieces or all in one perfect spiral, throw the whole thing in the pot! You can use the inside of the orange to garnish your cider when it’s done, or snack on it as your cider is warming on the stove.

Feel free to double the recipe- you can totally keep some leftover cider in the fridge to heat up in the microwave and enjoy later!

SPICED CIDER STOVETOP POTPOURRI

Instead of throwing away the solids that go into the cider- cinnamon sticks, star anise, orange peel etc. make a stovetop potpourri with them after the cider is done. Repurposing for the win!

The cider smells so good on the stove, why not keep that amazing smell going for longer and save some burn time for all our fall candles?!

Once you’ve drained the solids from the cider, add the solids back into the empty pot, add about 4 cups of water, and simmer it on the stove. Just keep an eye on it and make sure the water doesn’t completely evaporate. Keep adding water for as long as you want it to keep going. Your house will smell better than the fall candle section in Target.

BOOZY HOT SPICED APPLE CIDER
